June 19, 1982 Day 20
Up early and we’re off – Jewel Cave is cool. We took the scenic tour to get better pictures. The spelunking trip wasn’t necessary – we know what that’s like, so we opted for the scenery. It’s big – 65.8 miles and they think that’s only 1% of it!
Dan did a good cow imitation over the PA and got the cows to think the Blazer was Mom, (good times with dumb animals).
June 20, 1982 Day 21
We left the badlands at noon. Jeff really liked Wall Drugs. Jeff messed up again through a miscalculation how long it would take to get to Chicago. So now we’ll be there at 3 in the morning instead of 8am. We might go to a movie to waste time. I might talk to Elba for 2 hours.
June 21, 1982 Day 22
Saw my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins in Chicago, (Jeff). Left at night. Our first casualty – a flat tire – of course, there’s no air in the spare, (nice work Danno).
