June 8, 1982 Day 9
Arrived in Yosemite in early morning. Ray splashes a lady by a puddle and gets chewed out by the Ranger at the Tioga pass entrance. He still has no license. Snow is still deep, but at the lower elevations it is quite warm, (T-shirt weather).
There’s lots of skeeters on the peeters here. Did jack.
June 9, 1982 Day 10
“I want to go home!” (Dan). (“Forget it, Roman!”) (Jeff)
Did jack (again)
“I want to go to L.A.” (Ray). (Maybe Carr!) (Jeff)
But still had a good time.
We did laundry, (finally!) – Rode the shuttle bus around – Went to the store and sports shop – put down a payment on asses, (as if we needed 3 more), for tomorrow.
But we had “Dinty Moore” for dinner – so the day wasn’t all bad.
Have to admit; Yosemite is “niff” !!
June 10, 1982 Day 11
Quick walk to the bottom of Yosemite Falls – Then our mule ride on Marlene, Chiquita and Susie.
The scenery was really cool. The water around Nevada Falls moves quick – (which is what we’ve been doing too much of).
June 11, 1982 Day 12
Dan’s Uncle’s house; Good times!!; Lots of food, a bed to sleep in and a big breakfast. The Roman family is all the same – as soon as you walk in, you got food in your mouth and a beer in your hand! The best halfway point we could have for this trip. (It’s great, they all call him “Danny”)
(We lost Ray – he went to L.A. to see Cindy. The remaining 2 of the 3 musketeers will forge on ahead tomorrow)
June 12, 1982 Day 13
A quick stop at a winery for a tour and a few tastes of wine and we’re off to Redwood National Forest.
Beautiful scenery. US 1 is as much fun as ever! Really nice campsite, but noisy people.
June 19, 1982 Day 20 Up early and we’re off – Jewel Cave is cool. We took the scenic tour to get better pictures. The . . .
June 13, 1982 Day 14 11:30am Did some back-country off-roading through the Redwoods – good action shots of the Blazer doing a salmon imitation. Should . . .
